Polluters In The Papers

On July 27, 2009 the Ministry of Environmental Protection subcommittee decided that holders of discharge permits to the Mediterranean Sea will have to publish that they received the permit to pollute, the extent of the planned pollution, as well as its location in the media, at their own expense. Also, permit holders will have to allow the public to be able to access the full details of permit on the Internet.
Zalul initiated this proposal to the sub committee and we are thrilled about its passing into law. This is a big step towards future regulation of polluting companies. This will also encourage companies to upgrade their efficiency to maintain their reputations. Zalul is far from finished and this is an important step towards the organizations goals of a clean Israel.
